Stay in the moment: Anchal – Akash

Falling in love can be easy; nurturing that emotion and letting it grow entails work. To their credit, Misha and Rushabh had it in them to let the seed of affection sprout and germinate into a plant symbolising their union.

Misha was in St. Mary’s girls’ school; Rushabh in St. Mary’s boys. They never met but she, eyeing him from a distance, always thought he looked dapper in his prefect blazer. Destiny calling, one may say, as it was decided that Misha and Rushabh would represent their individual schools and plan their joint farewell party together. That first hello paved way for never-ending conversations, and there we were – shooting their lakeside wedding in Udaipur.

Then the inevitable meeting happened during the combined farewell party for all passouts from the two schools. The party done and dusted, Misha was about to leave when Rushabh confidently asked her for her number. Now, she was a trifle rattled as her father had specifically said she couldn’t share her number with boys. But she had that gut feeling too that dads could be pacified and so she gave Rushabh her number with the rider that she would text him first, not the other way round. He, in turn, gave her a gentleman’s promise that the prerogative of sending the first message was hers. The initial nervous ‘hellos’ between the two soon progressed into numerous, long conversations. But then, there was her dad to contend with, right?

Rushabh, however, decided he would win the man over just as he had won over Misha. His confidence came shining through as he told her father that she was the one for him and he would marry her only. The father was impressed and turned to his daughter, saying, “Love may come and go; you find the one who gives you peace.”

Misha knew that Rushabh was precisely the one her father wanted her to seek. There were also so many firsts to their relationship — he was her first crush, her first boyfriend, they had together cherished their first kiss… all that was left was to embark on the journey of togetherness, she felt.

To cut the chase, there we were, shooting Misha and Rushabh’s wedding in Udaipur, the city of lakes. Motwane Entertainment & Weddings was brought on board to create an unforgettable experience at The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur. And boy, did they do an outstanding job!

Misha and Rushabh had envisioned an exquisite arrangement, filled with love, charm and laughter. They found in Devika Sakhuja the one to bring their concept to life.  In a treat for the senses, the wedding setting against the picturesque backdrop of Lake Pichola was a serene sea of whites, interspersed with lush foliage. The mehendi ceremony borrowed colours from the Mediterranean – coupling bright hues with azulejo tile patterns. A one-of-a kind drone show was the highlight of the evening.

The guests felt they never had it better anywhere. They left after showering choicest blessings on the two school-time sweethearts who had painted their deep and meaningful affection on a canvass of eternal love.

These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammeled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted.
